About
The Theophilus Center for the Study of Ancient Judaism and Christianity is an educational organization dedicated to academic research and public scholarship that addresses the history, literature, and cultural contexts of ancient Judaism and ancient Christianity. The Center develops resources, organizes events, and supports scholars who share an interest in these fields of study.
Aims
The Theophilus Center has two primary aims. First, the Theophilus Center aims to produce, promote, and facilitate scholarship on ancient Judaism and Christianity. Second, the Theophilus Center aims to help non-academic audiences learn about ancient Judaism and Christianity through public engagement outside of academia.
Director
The Theophilus Center is directed by Andrew H. Waller. Andrew is a graduate of Southwestern University (BA), Redeemer Seminary (MDiv), and Ridley College (GradCertTh). Andrew is currently a PhD candidate at Ridley College, where he studies the intersection of early Jewish traditions about David as a prophet with the characterization of Jesus in Luke-Acts. Andrew and his wife Taylor live in Austin, Texas.
